A key determinant in a person’s speed learning success is how well they can remember something. You could learn all the different learning techniques but if you have a poor memory and attention retention, you won’t be able to master these learning techniques,

Now, when it comes to memory and attention, there are some certain bits of information that we tend to remember the most. These are:

  1. What information comes first?
  2. What information comes last?
  3. What information is most important?

If you notice, when you are attending a class, you would always remember the first things the professor said, his concluding statements and the things he mentioned about what you think is important.

At this juncture, it is necessary to note that the definition of the word “important” differs from one person to the other. And more often than not, it is our brain that decides what pieces of information are most important to us.

Obviously, this isn’t all that good for speed learning students. It should be you who would decide what information you really need. This can be achieved if you know how to prepare your mind.

When it comes to memory and attention, you really have your hands full.

Studies have shown that the normal, healthy adult has a maximum attention span of 20 minutes. And a person’s ability to recall gets worse through time.

Now, the best way to master learning techniques is to learn how your brain stores and remember new information.

When we learn new information, we should do something that would enable us to store the new information into our long-term memory and not in the short-term memory.

If we learn how to do this, we would be able to effectively learn new things and enjoy the new learning techniques that we’ve learned.
