I’m sure that you’ve heard of one or two accelerated learning techniques already and you might even be practicing these now.

Many students who are studying or plan to study accelerated learning techniques would usually think that accelerated learning or speed learning is all about the brain.

Now, although it is important to understand the brain before you study the concepts behind speed learning, the whole body is important too! In fact, there are some accelerated learning techniques that require you to use your body and not just your brain.

Just to be clear, these accelerated learning techniques can be categorized in the first step to speed learning: preparation.

The first accelerated learning technique that you need to do is to breathe. Yes, breathing is an accelerated learning technique. Surprised? I bet.

Your brain uses 25% of your oxygen supply and being in a stuffy environment can affect your brain’s oxygen supply. In turn, it affects your brains functions. This can actually improve concentration and focus.

Here’s how to do power breathing: power breathing and this is just a very simple ratio of breaths. The ratio depends on you. It’s just a better version of the exercise wherein your hold your breath.

Another lesser known accelerated learning technique is to drink lots of water. Remember when your mom told you to drink at least eight glasses of water every day? Well, that’s not something that people just say.

To make sure that your body gets all the water it needs, you should drink at least 2L of water daily. This does not include other liquid drinks like coffee, juices or sodas.

Dehydration can cause a person to be distracted, agitated and lose their concentration easily. If you are drinking enough water, you will be able to focus more on your lessons.
